On June 25, while on our way over to the east side of Glacier Park for some hiking, Patti and I stopped at the Silver Staircase Waterfall along Hwy 2. I've driven past this spot many, many times since the 1970s and I never noticed these falls before, even though when one is looking for them they can easily be seen from the highway. Of course, this year they are more easily seen as the water is flowing high and fast due to all the snow from the winter before.
The waterfall is halfway between Izaak Walton Inn and Marias Pass. They are located on the south side of Hwy 2 at mile #188. There is plenty of parking.
